Sara Shannon

PARTNERSHIP & FUNDRAISING STRATEGIST

Sara has spent twenty years in Catholic education, from classroom teacher to school principal—roles that have shaped her into a hands-on leader who understands the power of mission-driven work. Her diverse experiences with students, families, and community members have given her the foundation to lead with both care and vision.

Sara began her career in the Archdiocese of NY, spending fourteen years as a teacher and assistant principal at a PK-8 school in the Bronx. She most recently served six years as a teacher and administrator at Brooklyn Jesuit Prep in East Flatbush, including two years as principal of this Nativity-model middle school. Throughout her career, Sara has navigated the resource constraints common to mission-driven institutions while building relationships and telling stories that inspire community investment. Sara is excited to bring her programmatic knowledge, relationship-building expertise, and passion for educational equity and opportunity to DMD Consulting.

As a native Manhattanite and Catholic School graduate herself, Sara earned her BA in English and Secondary Education at Loyola University Maryland, her MS in General and Special Education, and a professional certificate in School Building Leadership from Manhattan University.
