Jillian Ruggiere

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIST

Jillian brings her nonprofit event planning, fundraising, and project management experience to her role as Marketing and Communications Strategist. Jillian began her career in marketing and advertising at Universal McCann where she helped to shape the identity for several iconic brands, most notably the U.S. Army. At McCann, Jillian focused much of her work on showcasing STEM initiatives. She quickly learned that it was not the advertising and marketing alone that she was passionate about–it was championing a specific cause. She felt an undeniable pull toward the nonprofit sector and decided to pursue a different career path.

Jillian transitioned to work as manager on the Corporate Sponsorship team at New York Cares. During her time there she supervised the relationship with sponsor Credit Suisse, promoting the idea that their employees can truly make a difference in the lives of New York City's most vulnerable residents. Jillian partnered with organizations such as City Harvest, Henry Street Settlement, and Harlem Academy to identify their needs and plan volunteer programs to fulfill them.

Prior to launching her professional career, Jillian studied at The University of Scranton in Pennsylvania, earning a bachelor’s in communication with a minor in English.
